During a trip to Iceland where we are working on implementing Signs of Safety we had the great privilege of sharing a flight with a South African boys’ choir that travels the world singing and spreading joy. As their voices filled the cabin with warmth and hope, it became clear: children who grow up in an environment of community, creativity, and respect can change the world.
When we landed, we spontaneously asked them to sing a song and to our surprise, they did, with such joy that it touched everyone around us. A moment of pure human connection, transcending language, background, and borders.
This moment reminds us why we work with children: to build futures where every child is seen, heard, and understood. Where cultural diversity is a strength, not an obstacle. And where prejudice gives way to curiosity and compassion.
