Two days with the heart in social work

We recently had the pleasure of conducting training for Mölndal’s social psychiatry team two days filled with dedication, wisdom, and heart. (The rest of the group took on the role of photographers for this picture.) It is a privilege to spend time with social workers who, every day, meet citizens facing the most complex stages of life.

Many of the people they work with are caught in a storm of complicating factors mental illness, addiction, loneliness, and trauma. And sometimes, children are involved as well. It is our shared responsibility to provide support without losing sight of the individual’s context. A sense of belonging is not a mere detail; it is a foundation. That is why the importance of social networks is central both for recovery and for a hopeful outlook on the future.

We left Mölndal feeling grateful and hopeful knowing there are professionals who see the person behind the challenge and who embody the values of social work in both thought and action.
